My husband and I took a road trip through the South Island last August and ended up visiting Grey Ridge by chance. We were warmly welcomed by Paul, who said we were the first visitors of the season, as winter is less popular with tourists. Paul promptly sat down with us, gave us an amazing lesson on winemaking and served us his beautiful Pinots. We talked about wines, how he and his wife Sue run the business basically just the two of them (which is wonderful, by the way ☺️👏🏽), production, the climate, the South Island landscape and so much more. We felt incredibly welcome and Paul tirelessly answered all our questions 🥹 We highly recommend a visit to anyone who appreciates good wine and especially to those who love learning about other cultures and lifestyles. Congratulations, Paul and Sue, and thank you kindly for your hospitality!...

Paul was a wonderful host, everything you want in a wine tasting, passionate and knowlageable and you could get a real understanding of the hard work that he and his wife Sue put into their picturesque land and vines. We also got the lucky chance to take home some other home made delicacies including a Pinot Noir jelly drizzle which is also exceptional with cheese. Authentic...

They shared their beautiful house with us and we felt really at home.
We learnt SO much about their entire operation, from growing and looking after the precious vines, to the bottling and retailing.
We were lucky that Sue made us the most tasty breakfast, mainly from fresh ingredients from the estate.
We walked around the estate and enjoyed sitting on the terrace, surrounded by the awesome gardens, as the sun went down.
Sue and Paul are passionate about their wine and their estate, and they couldn’t have been more kind and generous.
And their wines are just amazingly superb……we took home lots of bottles!
Highly...
