Kuaotunu Beach — Attraction in Waikato

This is a magic spot indeed and off season, or during the not summer months i would describe it as heaven. During the summer months this beautiful rural spot is a place to avoid as it is always packed with tourists, beach day goers and fisherman. There is a caravan park, a new subdivision in construction with huge mansions on the hill over looking sea and Islands. There are huge mountains to get there with 2 entrances from either way of highway 25, but once your there the area is perfectly flat. Safe shallow beach with clear water, usually sheltered unless a storm surf is running. There is a dog exercise area and of course Lukes on the far eastern end, the best spot around for a coffee or food, outside of the main centers. The beach faces North towards Great Barrier Island in the distance and the Mercury chain of islands is also in the distance out to the east running...

I have never stopped at Kuaotuna Beach before. I really enjoyed the quiet Eastern (or South-East?) end of the Beach, the ice-creams at the General Store, the Pizza... But the beautiful peaceful beach is the HERO...
