This was a really steep continuous climb. It's harder than walking up stairs as you have to watch your footing on this rocky track and sometimes hoist yourself up to get over obstacles. We went in Dec 2019 and the track is still affected by the landslide, but it's doable and fun. When you get to a dead end, you'll have to crawl under a fallen tree and scrub near the start of the track. The orange markers are on the otherside.

The track itself is very steep and not for the faint hearted, no jandals on this one! We completed a return trip in 4:30 hours. At the beginning not well maintained, with fallen tree you have to crouch through. After this though the trail is well marked to the top with a couple of good lookouts on the way. We went on a foggy day but I hear the views are amazing

Awesome hike. Very Steep with lots of tree roots through the Forest part, once above 900m the track opens into short bush and tussock. Less steep here although still steady uphill climbing. Around 3hrs to the summit with a similar time coming back down. Great views once above the bushline.
