Locally run by bearded volunteers. This little living museum is a tribute to days gone by in Reefton. These dedicated men have put together a working replica of a little mining hut. They work and play around the hut and are very knowledgeable about the gold mining era. When we were there we we're offered scones made in a cast iron pot over a coal fire.... Beautiful flavour!
