Jankara market is a must visit when in Lagos state. Its an awesome place to get all sorts of African Fabrics, Wrist Watches, Wall clocks, Building Materials Tools, Souvenirs, Affordable Artworks, Kitchen Utensils, Household Items, and many more from different vendors at affordable and wholesale prices. Gone are are those days when the market is not safe from hoodlums that picks pockets and street fights. It's always advisable to visit the market in the early hours of the day because of Lagos traffic. It's a market that serves people from far and near, people come in from nearby Africa countries to buy items for resale in their region.

This is the best market in Nigeria for buying of wristwatches & wall clocks at wholesale prices. It is easy to access and the environment is motorable. Other products like bicycle, sewing machine, chemical, padlock and key, etc can be bought in and around Jankara but wristwatch is most notable. One can easily get car or bus to convey whatever one bought in Jankara Market to their destination. Thousands of buyers and sellers meet there everyday except on Sundays and festive season.

This is a market place that has a lot of sellers who are into various electronic parts coupled with repairers. In short, there is hardly anything you use in your room or office you can't find here, as I have been patronising this market for over 5 years (with a lot of customers' contact details). If you want cheap and quality products in order to get value for your money, you can always come to Jankara market to get the best here. The experience is awesome and lovely.

Jankara Market is the largest market in Lagos and sells everything from tie-dyed cloth, trade beads and jewellery to pirate cassettes, pottery and clothing.

Jankara Market conjures different imageries for Lagos residents: a scrap auto spare parts market or a market for the downtrodden, the likes of those described in Frantz Fanon’s Wretched of The Earth. For others, it is the commercial nerve-centre  for  all sorts of inferior  and thoroughly abused  auto spare parts.

Though it gives an unflattering appearance and despite the not- too- complimentary perceptions, 39 year-old Jankara, the auto spare parts market, located in Ijaye, in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area of Lagos, this age-long market hold its attraction to many Lagosians; the die-hard and loyal patrons, whose first port of call whenever the exigencies of fixing an auto issue arise, is usually the Jankara market.

For them, Jankara Auto Spare Market is not just a centre for mercantilism but a refuge, where cheap and affordable autos and their accessories can be accessed. Without it, the life would not have been the same.

A lot of vehicles you see today would have been off the road but for this market, whose trade mark has always been cost accessibility, the strength of the market is derived from the fact that ‘it has something for everybody’, depending on the purse of the client.

You will see different grades of auto spare parts there; the imported ones, the ones used in Nigeria and even vehicles too are put on sale in this market. Your purse in this instance determines what you buy,

Established 39 years ago, following the orders of the then state governor, Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande to traders in the old Jankara Market on the Island to relocate their auto spare parts section from the place, Jankara Orisumbare had grown, in the past few decades to attract both local and international patronage. Another secret behind this success remains the determination of the leadership of the market to exterminate some of those issues that might discourage the prospective clients from visiting the market; chief among them is that of poor customer service.

Jankara is a general market located in the Idumota area of Lagos State.

Goods from wrist watches, wall clocks, baby wears and baby shower items, men's underwear, all.kinds of electronics, cooking items and utensils etc are amongst the many things sold here.

Services are also rendered here. Like repairs of electronic items, wrist watches etc. Even though I have been to Jankara several times in the past, it was this services that took me there, this time around. As I sought to fix some of my gadgets. Which has gone bad and of which, I have been told that it would be impossible to fix. But on taking it there, they were all fixed.

The environment is horribly bad. Most especially since it just rained the day before. The gutters were bursting out with filth. The streets strewn with all kinds of litters. In fact, anyone going to Jankara during raining season must learn how pigs wallow in stench and filth before undertaking the journey.

Apart from the the environment, some of the properties in that area have been marked by Lagos State Authority for demolition due to faulty, structural damages. Few have actually sunk. So watch out for places you go. Not to fall prey to faulty structure and sink with it.

However, it is a place to go to and get bargain and also fix electronics that have been deemed...

Jankara market is one of the popular market in Lagos Island like Balogun, Ita Faji, Oju Olobun, Agarawu, Idumota, Enu Owa, Moshalashi, Pelewura, Bonbata, Oja Oba, Sura, Sandgrose, Oro Oyinyin, Oko Awo, Ebute Ero, Oke Arin, Mandillas, Oluwole urban Market, Ebute Elefun, and among others. The main market had been demolished and turned out to be dumping site. Poor drainage system in some parts of the market area. But can still find some plazas standing tall around the market where you can still get all kinds of materials like gifts items, house useful materials, cooking materials, electrical materials, and trado medicinal places where you can purchase all kinds of herbal remedies, etc. However, there's also a popular plaza called plaza where you can repair your damaged phone but at your own risk. There's a police Post, School (King Ado Junior high school), Mosque (Anwar-Ul-Islam Movement of Nigeria) and a church located in this market. You can access this market either through Idumagbo avenue or Adeniji Adele road and or...
