Absolutely one of the prettiest tails i’ve ever been on! The greenery was immense, and we saw two deer pulling in. The water was sooo pretty, though high and fast. We chose not to go close to or in the water. I would definitely recommend bug spray. We where prepared with sunscreen but my very city girl sister complained the entire time about bugs. I definitely plan on going again, there’s so much to explore and many paths to go down! But this is not the directions to the parking lot! I repeat go to the norms island board to find parking access to the park!! No parking at where this took me!

Seemed like a great trail: dog-friendly, bike-friendly, decent shade-cover, and access to water. But when we visited, mid-Juky around 1pm, the mosquitos were awful. So bad that we could only make it about half a mile before we started jogging to lose them and eventually just turned around and left. It was beautiful while it lasted though!

The hike is so beautiful, meet new people, and so many dogs for your dogs to visit. Here is something i saw today was unusual. Yes, it is a big chunks of ice pushed up on the shore.

Great trail to walk with your furry friends OFF LEASH! I've read the negative comments about off leash dogs and I think it's ridiculous.

If you know your dogs behavior then you make the judgement if he should be off leash.

Trail is clean and maintained. There's a shallow part in the river with a rock bank perfect for your doggo to swim. Also a great place to bring a hammock and a book! Enjoy!

We absolutely love Norm's Island. We probably walk the loop around the island 2-3 times per week with our dog and daughter year round. The trails are well-maintained and access to the river is excellent. Dog's are welcomed off leash (if well-behaved) and nearly every dog we've run into is friendly and up for a game of chase. Also great for running.
