Truthfully my little guys LOVED the zoo. They had a complete blast seeing the animals that were there as well as the play ground in the middle.
Being accustomed to Zoos from the US it was a bit of a concern and also pretty cool how close you could get to the cages of the animals. We did have to remind our oldest (3.5 yrs old) to keep his hands out of the animals "homes".
Entering the zoo was a bit difficult. We didn't know where the entrance was and somehow ended up going in through an employee entrance.
The employee who found us after about 15 minutes of walking let us pay and leave our car where it was.
Overall, worth the visit with little kiddos as they are just happy to see the animals. Especially as there is a variety of animals to see; bear, lion & lioness, hippopotamus, birds, tiger, kangaroos, goats, rams, sheep, goats, lamas, bunnies, chickens, ostriches, emus, horses, lemurs and more.
Visiting as a foreigner, just keep expectations from other experiences with Zoos far from the forefront...

The atmosphere was kinda tragic, we were the only people visiting at the time which is not too bad, but that sometimes speaks for the place itself.
However, there were good things, too. For example I love the old, traditional house on the middle of the zoo. It is amazing for making pictures and resting before going in again to see the animals. I love the children's place with all the fun activities that can be done there.
I can remember that the dog shelter was there too previously, but I don't think I saw...
