Makedonium is a notable landmark located in the city of Krushevo, North Macedonia. It is a magnificent monument that was built in 1974 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Ilinden Uprising, an important event in the country's history.

The structure itself is impressive, standing at over 60 meters tall and shaped like a giant, five-pointed star. It is constructed entirely out of concrete and features various sculptures and reliefs that depict the struggles and triumphs of the Macedonian people throughout their history. The interior of the monument is also well-designed, with various halls and chambers that offer a glimpse into the country's past.

One of the most striking things about Makedonium is its location. The monument is situated on a hilltop overlooking the city of Krushevo, providing visitors with breathtaking views of the surrounding area.

Overall, Makedonium is a must-see attraction for anyone visiting Krushevo or the surrounding area. Its unique design, historical significance, and stunning location make it a truly memorable destination. Whether you are a history buff or simply appreciate impressive architecture, Makedonium is definitely...

A must-see when visiting Krusevo! I arrived around 11 AM on a Sunday and was a bit surprised to find the monument closed, even though it was supposed to be open. I walked around and later asked at the nearby information desk. Turns out the staff member was just on a breakfast break and opened it right away after I asked. Lucky me!

The visit was one of the highlights of my trip. The man at the entrance (sorry forgot his name!) was so nice and took the time to explain every little detail of the Makedonium. From how it was built, what each symbol means to the powerful history behind it. I paid only 50 denars (local price), even though the standard fee is 150. Totally worth it either way!

There are also plenty of information boards in English, which made it easy to follow along and understand Macedonia’s struggle for independence and identity. The design of the monument is so unique and full of symbolism. It really left an impression on me.

If you’re interested in culture, architecture, or history, don’t miss this place. It’s not just a monument, it’s a piece of the...

My dear friend, let me tell you about my wonderful experience at the Makedonium monument on 17 April 2023. Despite the rainy weather, my visit was truly unforgettable, and I must say it was all thanks to the outstanding tour guide we had. Although his name escapes me, he was undoubtedly one of the best guides I have ever had the pleasure of encountering.

From the moment we met him, he exuded warmth and hospitality, making us feel welcome and at ease. His storytelling was truly magical; he had a gift for weaving together historical facts and anecdotes that left me spellbound. Even now, days later, I can still remember every detail he shared with us.

What's more, it was evident that this gentleman had a true passion for history. I was amazed to learn that he had written a book on the battle in Sliva - his depth of knowledge was simply astounding.

All in all, my visit to the Makedonium monument was an absolute delight, thanks in no small part to our...

Makedonium is a very interesting Yugoslavian architecture perched up on the hill in Krushevo, a memorial for the soldiers. Ilinden, also known as Makedonium, is a monument in Kruševo, Macedonia. Makedonium was officially opened on August 2 of 1974, on the 30th anniversary of the Second Session of the Anti-fascist Assembly for the National Liberation of Macedonia and the 71st anniversary of Ilinden uprising. (Credit: Wikipedia) We enjoyed our time learning to fly our drone around this magnificent piece of architecture, it was very peaceful tucked away with beautiful views, and surrounded by nature. The locals bring their horses to feed, the sound of the bells chiming around their necks as they trim the grass added to the ambiance. Unfortunately, the monument was closed, so we were unable to enter to enjoy the stained glassed windows as the sun was setting from indoors.
