As an aviation enthusiast, this museum filled me with disappointment and sadness. They exhibition is overfilled, everything is in partial darkness, halfheartedly lit by some spotlights from above "for a mysterious atmosphere", accomplishing nothing but ruining the the exhibition of the aircraft themselves.
The architecture itself is literal and childish, looking like a propeller hub from above, which means that the exhibition itself is forced into a long, narrow exhibition space. The majority of the planes you can't even walk around, because they're cordoned off in a corner, again because of space issues stemming from the ridiculous architecture.
The historical timeline of graphical posters are all in one separate spot, instead of placed by the relevant planes in question. The exhibition is arranged in a historically and thematically confused fashion. The legendary U-2 was placed with its nose in a corner, hanging high and inaccessibly under the ceiling, lazily lit by some spotlights of different color. You could barely see it, and you could only see the rear of the belly.
And to think they took planes from other, better museums to fill this one with, to a small city with fewer visitors, and exhibited in a clearly aviation-disinterested and exhibition-technically bad way. And this is a purpose-built...

But the parking. Arrived late in the evening and was going to stay in the parkin lot for the night and I was prepared to pay for it, expecting up to 30-40 euros for 9pm until we'd leave the next day, maybe around 2pm. But no. My Easypark app told me it would be over 600 NOK for twelve hours, and IIRC it allowed only 12 hours so it wouldn't even be enough. Spent the night elsewhere and came back in the morning. Instructions on the parking lot say you'l have 3 hours for free "with a ticket". I expected I'd get a P-ticket when I pay the entrance and bring the ticket back to the car, but you can get the 3 hour free ticket from the parking lot machine. So actually you can go get a new ticket for another 3 hours as many times as you need. Got the 3 hour ticket and added one more hour by Easypark, all ok. But when I needed to extend the time (because the museum takes hours), the Easypark app wouldn't accept more than the 3+1 hours parking so at that point I decided it was enough for the day and left.
But other than the parking (or maybe I just don't get it) the place is really worth a visit even if you have no other reason...
