Borre mound cemetery forms part of the Borre National Park at Horten in Vestfold og Telemark, Norway. It is home to seven large and 21 smaller burial mounds. Excavations in the 1980s revealed that the oldest mounds date to 600 AD, i.e. prior to the Viking Age.

Walking through the Borre Mounds in an amazing forest to the waters edge, felt as though we were transport back to the times of the burials. Beautiful and peaceful. We were especially lucky to have a lone piper sending a melodic tune through the forest.

A great place to learn about Vikings. A small museum and in summer at some weekend's a big "authentic" Viking camp where fans come from all over to live like Vikings. Check dates for...

An amazing location with beautiful landscape and a nice beach with grills put out for the public. Great place to take a walk and there is supposed to be sheep there...

Splendido parco archeologico immerso nella natura. Sono presenti numerose sepolture a tumulo appartenenti ad importanti esponenti dell'era vichinga. Recentemente è stata rintracciata con il georadar una seconda imbarcazione sepolta. Il parco si presta anche a trascorrere una bella giornata in mezzo alla natura, sotto i meravigliosi alberi o in riva al mare. Molto bello.
