While I thought this was interesting, I really didn't know what this was all about. On returning to Canada and showing pictures to a friend, he was able to immediately explain it as he recognized the countries they came from. I appreciate it more now that I know more about it. A nice monument of peace in a remote area of the world.

The trip was truly amazing! The barren area was very impressive and we were lucky to see two herds of reindeer. The midnight light added to the magic. I definitely want to go back. Don't miss the North Cape Hall, it's full of interesting information that you won't want to miss.

Die Skulptur „Kinder der Welt“ wurde 1988 ins Leben gerufen, als der Autor Simon Flem Devold sieben Kinder aus sieben Ländern - Tansania, Brasilien, USA, Japan, Thailand, Italien und Russland - nach dem Zufallsprinzip auswählte, um das Nordkap zu besuchen und dort vom „Frieden auf Erden“ zu träumen. Gegenüber den sieben kreisrunden Reliefs steht die Skulpturengruppe „Mutter mit Kind“. Die beiden Figuren wurden von Eva Rybakken erschaffen. Die Figur der Mutter und ihrem Jungen soll das harte Leben der Fischerfrauen symbolisieren, die auf ihre Männer warten.

Este monumento fue hecho en junio de 1989 por el artista Simon Flem Devold, la artista Eva Rybakken y siete niños. Este monumento simboliza la paz, la alegría, la esperanza y la amistad entre los niños y las naciones del mundo. En este monumento, la artista Eva Rybakken creo la parte de "madre e hijo" en la cual el hijo, al parecer pide a la madre lo deje ir hacia el resto del monumento que son siete relieves circulares creados por los niños mencionados anteriormente, cada niño colaboró con uno de esos relieves. Los niños son originarios de Japón, Brazil, Italia, la unión soviética, Tanzania, Tailandia y Estados Unidos de América...
