Nordkapp itself is a great place worth visiting, walking around and enjoying, the hall not in the slightest.
Now to the details - upon your arrival there's a guy in a booth (kind, smiling) informing you that you can park there for free and walk around the premises (toilets are also on the parking lot for free, thank god). Then he added information that to enter the hall where they have everything for the visitors; shop, cinema, and restaurant, you have to pay 310 NOK per person just to gain the access to the building. We double check that we understood correctly and yes, you need to pay 310 NOK per person just to get the permission to access the building itself. Only after paying the 310 NOK per person you will get the chance to spent some more money there in a gift shop and restaurant in addition (yes, not possible without paying the 310 NOK first). So if you want a souvenir from Nordkapp, a postcard, a sticker or just to enjoy a coffee or a meal in the restaurant after so long travels, it will cost you the amount for the goods + 310 NOK per person. Yes, for this price you will also get the chance to enjoy their cinema which is the single thing included in the price beside the entering of the building itself. Hm, wow. To sum it up, that is simply insane and everyone who came at the same time with us skipped the opportunity to go in. I still wonder until now how is this good for their business or for the visitors satisfaction, happiness, recommendations? Ticket for kids was 240 NOK so you can do the math what the cost for the whole family would be to only to get inside the building without even buying anything. Wonderful that it is valid for 24 hours but no.
This was one huge disappointment and the first time I have ever encountered so shady rules in Norway in so many years of living and travelling here. It felt like a tourist trap, not welcoming at all - like they don't really want you there, you represent just a piggy bank for them, a source for draining money - pay for entrance and then pay for souvenirs, pay for food and drinks and leave some hundreds, ideally thousands crowns lighter. I asked if I can only get a special post cancellation stamp on my postcard which I already had with me. The answer was yes, if I pay the 310 NOK first. With absolutely no effort and interest from the staff there (two young girls not really interested in anything unless us buying the tickets...). This place deserves better. Luckily you can enjoy (unless they change that) all the nature and the views for free and that is the only thing I can recommend here.
And if you want a wonderful visitors experience and it's on your way, enjoy The Artic Circle Center where there is no fee for anything, they have wonderfully equipped souvenir shop, cinema part, delicious food in their bistro and ever helping and welcoming staff with anything you ask about. Basically anywhere is much better than here....

Inside area (Nordkapphallen) is an impertinence. There's an entrance fee of around 30 € just for the privilege of being inside and having access to the facilities such as toilets, a restaurant, a museum and a souvenir shop. While some contribution to maintain the place in good condition would be acceptable, 30€ is ridiculous. Keep in mind you still have to pay for you purchases in restaurant or shop of course.
The restaurant does not deserve this label, we expected warm food, proper lunch but all one could buy were overpriced beverages, hot dogs, waffles or snacks. This is a café at best not a restaurant. The view you have while snacking your pricey bites is stunning but not worth what you pay for if you keep in mind you can have the view for free outdoors.
Entrance fee buys you a visit to the museum part. A few presented facts about the Nordkapp and its discovery... that's about it. Disappointing.
On our search for a break and some food for lunch we ended up paying 50 € p.p. for effectively a waffle, a sandwich and a drink. That is - even in Norway, even at such a special location - nothing other than usury.
Prepare your stay, bring a bite and a sip yourself and spend that saved...
