A great place to get to know about the history of the Northern Cape. A very friendly employee at the desk provided all the information we needed. The museum provides firm and condensed geographical, ethnological and historical information about the Northern Cape, the Finnmark region and the changing population over time. Lots of requisites and films from contemporary witnesses emphasise the great research work and first hand information character. Leaving the museum we purchased some souvenirs. Read moreThis museum is a fantastic portal into the culture and history of the coastal communities of Finnmark. At the same time it provides an in depth view of the small society on Magerøya called Honningsvåg. The museum concentrates on important facets of culture, and important events in history such as the fishing industry and the architectural landskape as shaped in the post- WWII rebuilding era. As well as providing an excerpt of a unique culture, the local guides are willing to provide additional details on what- ever questions may arise to the consciousness of the visitor.
