BALESTRAND FJORD ANGLING — Attraction in Sogndal

This was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. My husband and I came to Norway looking for an incredible Norwegian experience and we got one!

We signed up for the Balestrand Fjord Angling and Fjord Excursion package that has a duration of 3 hours. Captain Tor was ready for us right when we arrived and our journey started!

We learned about the history of Balestrand and heard many awesome stories from the Captain. Not only did we go fishing, but we were shown the different fjords, drank from waterfalls, and learned so much in such a fun way.

Words can not express how great this experience is. We came to fish. Went home from one of the best tours we ever experienced (along with four delicious fish). Capt. Tor is authentic and one heek of a storyteller. He knows his childhood area like his backpocket and is eager to share his authentic stories with you, when you're on board his little private fishing boat. He makes the trip around four nearby fjords in an adequate pace. The length of the ride is perfect. Had it been one bit longer our minds would have exploded from all the beauty we witnessed. Our captain wasn’t just knowledgeable about fishing, but also shared fascinating stories about the local history, geography, and culture of Balestrand. Since he was born and raised here, every story felt personal and meaningful. You could really feel his love for his hometown.

Even our kids found it super interesting — they were fully engaged the whole time! It was one of the best experiences we’ve had during our trip to Norway. Highly recommended...
