St. Olaf's Church is an Anglican church in the village of Balestrand in Sogndal Municipality in the county of Vestland in Norway. The church was built in 1897 as a stave church imitation and has 95 seats.

Built 1897 by Knut Kvikne (Hotel Kviknes fame) 3 years after his wife's death (1894 - TB). She was Margaret Sophie Green from England, thus the "The English Church." A beautiful building modelled on a Stave Church.

Erbaut im Stil einer norwegischen Stabkirche. Ihre Fertigstellung erfolgte im Jahr 1897. Geweiht ist die Kirche dem heiligen Olav II. Haraldsson. Es handelt sich um eine anglikanische Kirche. Diese wurde hier errichtet zum Gedenken an die englische Bergsteigerin Margaret Sophia Green Kvikne. Sie heiratete in Balestrand und verstarb hier an Tuberkulose. Von der Kirche aus hat man einen sehr schönen Blick über den Fjord. Im Inneren der Kirche sind besonders sehenswert: der Altar, die Buntglasfenster und der Chor.

Great little church! It is free but they do ask for donations to help keep it up. It is maintained by the locals. So many details on this church!

Beautiful and charming little church. Apparently it's the church that the Frozen coronation scene was based on. It's very peaceful to visit.

Vakker liten kirke fra 1897. Byggingen av kirken ble satt i gang av Knut Kvikne, hotellvert på Kvikne Hotell, etter ønske fra hans kone, Margaret Sophia Green, på dødsleiet om å få bygget en anglikansk kirke i Balestrand. Derav har kirken også fått tilnavnet engelskkirken. Den ble vigslet kun tre år etter Margarets død. Stilmessig er den en etterligning av stavkirkene.
