Of the six Fjords cities I visited...Olden I think is my absolute favorite, it's natural beauty, waterfalls, the town with its charming farm houses and some beautiful traditional homes as well.
The beautiful snow capped mountains tower over the city while in port was magnificent.
There's so much to take in...in this lovely town, nice shopping malls with a variety of goods from souvenirs to clothing...good prices on outerwear, a nice supermarket is in this port and the only city that takes foreign currency.
Definitely was impressed with Olden and the only one that I felt the warmth and friendliness of the people...

Research, and you will find that you can take a local city bus from the cruise terminal and spend about $20 USD round-trip to take you to a stunning glacier, Briksdal Glacier. About a 35 minute ride. The bus will stay parked for about 3 hours. It stops at the visitor center/lodge. Ample time to hike to the glacier. It's a mostly easy to moderate hike. We visited here on a cruise from the UK and woke up to the most amazing views of snow capped mountains and a lovely little town. There is so much to do here from paddling to coach tours, seeing waterfalls and glaciers. There is a viewing platform where you take a cable car to get up to it. It is all just breath taking.
If you just want a wonder around, the locals are welcoming and friendly, there are a few shops a café and a bar. It was definitely worth getting off...
