Outstanding place with charm and flair presenting ancient crafts and practices (also the outdoor area is fascinating) as well as many enchanting items, inventions and historical insights from the area. Stavechurch guided tour is highly recommended. Also the buffet with delicious foods. We were happy, impressed and able to dive into things. Thanks VTM and friendly staff :)

Amazing Museum. So many impressive art pieces. And the staff (especially the tour guide in the church) was very knowledgeable and nice. The activity park for kids is also great. Our kids (8 and 10) had a lot of fun.

It's just so amazing to be able to see really old norwegian buildings up close. The guides who work here have a lot of knowledge and are happy to answer your questions. I will probably stop by if I'm that way again!

A little out the way but well worth the trip. Lovely surrounds hosts a variety of historic building, Stave Church and museum. There is also a nice activity area for the kids where they can work the model canal locks, try some wood carving, archery and dig for archeology.... A must if you...

Nice museum, also for children. Indoor there is , next to an exposition on Telemarks history , an interactive part on how the water power station work. Outdoor there is a replica of the Telemark canal, where kids can play with small boats. There are some other activities for...
