Breathtaking Views and Safe Ascent: A Memorable Experience at Tromsø Viewpoint! The journey to Tromsø viewpoint via the cable car was an absolute delight! From start to finish, the experience was filled with awe-inspiring moments and a sense of safety that allowed us to fully enjoy the panoramic vistas. Ascending to the top, the cable car ride felt secure and steady, offering a smooth ascent that allowed us to focus entirely on the unfolding scenery below. The views were simply spectacular, showcasing the beauty of Tromsø and its surrounding landscapes in all their glory. Once at the summit, the breathtaking views truly took our breath away. The vistas stretched as far as the eye could see, with snow-capped mountains, pristine fjords, and charming cityscapes painting a picture-perfect scene. It's an experience that words can hardly do justice. A tip for future visitors: be sure to dress appropriately for the weather, as the temperatures can vary at higher altitudes. Additionally, for the adventurous souls, don't miss the opportunity to climb even higher up to the peak for an even more immersive experience. In conclusion, a trip to Tromsø viewpoint via the cable car is an absolute must-do for anyone visiting the area. With its unbeatable views, safe ascent, and potential for exploration, it's an experience that will stay with you long after the journey ends.

One of the paths is recently built by sherpas from Nepal; this is basically a staircase all the way up and does not require hiking or terrain shoes (leave your high heels at home though, sneakers are highly recommended). Once at the top you get to enjoy the best panoramic view over Tromsø. The cafeteria sells pretty much garbage at your typical tourist ripoff prices (one waffle is 40 NOK, half liter of coke is 45). I’ll highly recommend that you rather bring along a sandwich bought in the city; ex, Kaffebønna.

If you’re not able to walk up the stairs (or one of the alternative mud paths) you could always take the cable...

Probably offers the most classic view of Tromso. We decided to buy the day pass for the cable car because we planned to go up to the top and down again twice in a day. Once during daylight and once after dark.

There is of course the trail with steps that you can go up and down from, but we wanted to make time for other sites to chase northern lights.

If aurora activity is high on the day then the spot is actually quite popular at night. Some people will also trek back down. If you don't want to, make sure you take note of when the last cable car is and allow time to...
