The ticket booth suggested that I buy a round-trip ticket, but the price was much higher than Bergen’s cable car. Since I happened to have snowshoes with me, I decided to hike up slowly instead. The final section was incredibly steep—if you didn’t step carefully, you’d slide back three steps for every step forward. It was quite a challenge, but we made it! Along the way, I met a local named Christopher, who hikes up here almost every day—though when he’s feeling lazy, he might skip it for two weeks. He shared a lot of his experiences with us. Drinking a 69-Krone cup of hot chocolate at the mountaintop, with free whipped cream added by the staff, felt incredibly rewarding. After the challenging hike, this treat was far more satisfying than it would be for those who took the cable car up! For the way down, wearing snowshoes wasn’t recommended. Instead, we slid down on the snow like a natural slide, which was so much fun. This was truly one of the best experiences of my life—five stars for myself and my amazing companions!

One of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever witnessed! The panoramic sights of Tromsø from the top are simply incomparable. The cable car ride takes just a few minutes, and at the summit you’ll find a cosy café with food options to warm up. From there, you can stroll across the snow-capped hilltops—a true delight. Do remember to dress in layers, as it gets very cold. What makes this place truly unique is its geography: snow-covered mountains rising straight from the sea, offering magical day views and unforgettable nightscapes of the entire city.

The place is amazing. The view of tromso is heart taking. From there you can have a view over all tromso. There is a cable car that comes around every 10-15 min, and there are stairs that take you up or do won the mountain. The weather on top of the mountain is really cold, so you have to wear properly. There is a restaurant and cafe serves local food, you must give it a try because it is super super delicious. The experience was so good. Definitely recommended.

It's not cheap but if you go up when it's dark during November or December and the skies are clear, no clouds, you might get lucky and see the northern lights. Free coffee refills too in case you stick around up there for a while (so hang on to the receipt). When your hands gets cold, defrost them using the Dyson hand dryer in the bathrooms. Also, you should look up the schedule for the lifts because they only go once every 20 min or so...depends on how many people are waiting... Don't miss this when you...
