Just a short 10 minute drive from Odda, this hike has some of the best views I’ve ever seen! Unlike Trolltunga, you are actually looking out at a fjord as opposed to a glacial lake. If you are going off of Alltrails, please take note that there is a road that takes you up to the trailhead. It might be worth researching if a shuttle can take you up to the entrance, otherwise it is quite dangerous as a pedestrian. Alternatively, there is a 3 spot parking lot that you can park in when it is a slow day. The main parking lot is close to $35 usd for the day, can only pay by the day. This is where most people park for Trolltunga. If you go to the museum nearby, the parking is free. The hike itself takes about 1.5 hours, 50 min up, lots of pics and then 30 min down. Be careful on the way down, it’s very slippery. Once you hit the pipes there isn’t too much...

Sadly, the museum was closed but the hike was still worth the view, even though the way up was a bit challenging. You can even have a coffee from Tuesday to Friday on top.

Two important recommendations: DON'T park at the Trolltunga parking lots (300 NOK!). Go further up the road, there is a guest parking right at the start of the hike, which is free for three hours. When you reach the top, take the little steep stairs next to the houses to reach an even better view over the whole fjord. The way to a great stone edge just takes about five extra minutes and is...

The path was steep!! We got a very hot day and the ascend almost killed my spirit. BUT the view from the top (all the way, go up the stairs from the cafe) was amazing!! The fjord, some waterfalls, just beautiful. Then I really thought it was worth it. The descend made my legs shake.. Proper shoes are needed and would imagine that it’s very slippery on a rainy day..

We parked at the bottom and walked the extra 1km at the side of the rode. We asked the staff at the parking for the ticket and got it for free since only went...

Really nice tour with a wonderful view. The hike is difficult and steep, hiking boots and good weather are recommended. But it is manageable with kids. We needed about 40 minutes from the parking lot to the viewpoint. On top there is a hut where you can buy beverages e.g. coffee or snacks. There are also guided Tours (1 PM or 4 PM) where you can take a look at the water caves of the former hydroelectric power station. This is a nice addition to the hydroelectric power station museum in Tyssedal.
