Went on a sunny day in July- absolutely incredible views all the way up but especially at the top. There are various views about the difficulty…we went up with our 4 year old who did great but there were many spots where we were very cautious with her due to steepness and slippery spots due to sandy loose dirt and pebbles. It’s absolutely a moderate to difficult hike- maybe on the easier side in terms of Lofoten hikes, but still quite steep and parts where you’ll use your hands to assist. Find the trail on AllTrails to help determine which way is best for you…we started from across the street from the WC (in red circle on the photo) which took us past the lake before heading up up up. The section past the lake gave us a minute to catch our breath before continuing to the summit which was nice. It took us ~ 4 hours round trip but with plenty of time to relax at the top and plenty of stopping with our daughter. We parked at 930am and there were plenty of spots- by time we returned...
Read moreTrailhead from the parking lot just in front of the tunnel. Trail rises to the saddle between two rocky outcrops with a small lake below. After reaching the outcrop ridge it joins the trail from the trailhead on E10 below ascends rather steeply along a rocky/sandy path for about 30 minutes. Later, the surfaces changes to peat & grass and becomes somewhat less steep, but still it is not gentle slope. Finally, you reach the peak at 436 meters and can enjoy a fantastic 360 view of the rocks, islands & beaches. Round trip is slightly less than 8 km and the trail is a bit less demanding than Matinden, which we have done a day before. Low to medium Moderate? I understand you can save distance at a cost of steepness on the first part of the trail by taking the E10 trailhead from Skreda parking lot on the left side of...

If you choose to start here, the parking is at Streida. When you start to walk the direction of Lofoten Basecamp you pick one of the many trails you'll see along the road. Whichever the trail, these are considered the "shorter" but steeper trails with the first part covered in trees.
We personally turned back and decided to park at "Vestvagoy Restplads" right before the tunnel. There the trail is longer, but more gradual and scenic throughout. Hope this helps as we spent 30 mins being confused and indecisive about where the...
