Jebel Shams is indeed one of the highest peaks in Oman, known for its stunning landscapes and pleasant climate. It's a wonderful destination to enjoy with friends and family for a maximum of two days. However, it's important to note that there are no shops available in close proximity to the peak itself. If you need to purchase anything, you'll have to do so before heading up the hill.

Before starting your journey towards Jebel Shams, it's advisable to stock up on essentials such as food, water, snacks, camping gear, and any other items you may need during your stay. It's recommended to purchase these supplies from nearby towns or cities before making your way up the hill.

Once you reach Jebel Shams, you can immerse yourself in the breathtaking natural beauty, indulge in hiking trails, and enjoy the cool climate with your loved ones. Just make sure you have everything you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable, as there won't be any shops available in the immediate vicinity.

Remember to also pack warm clothing, as the temperature at higher altitudes can be cooler than in lower areas. Additionally, it's essential to follow responsible tourism practices, leaving no trace of your visit and respecting the environment and local regulations.

Enjoy your trip to Jebel Shams and have a memorable time with your friends and family amidst the...

The 3.5 hour drive from Muscat which includes a stretch of non gravelled trail and some sharp bends is made worthwhile when you reach the plateau called the 'Grand Canyon'. I just took a day trip but I'm sure if you reach at around 4 pm and stay overnight it would be a beautiful experience. The Canyon's rock formations are pretty unique to this region. Camping under the skies would definitely be something I wish I had tried. I wish there had been a couple of restrooms here. Also make sure you carry your own food and water if you are not staying in the resorts. There was no restaurant or general utilities shop in sight till you reach the base and travel a bit. The temperature was around 18 degrees C even at noon but the sun is very sharp and stinging at that altitude. But nights could be cold. Do visit this interesting landscape over a weekend if you are staying in Muscat for...

Amazing Experience at Jebel Shams Viewpoint, Oman

Visited on 11th February and absolutely loved the breathtaking views of the canyon! The weather was freezing, with the temperature around 11°C during the day and close to ground frost in the early morning. This spot, at an elevation of 2,000 meters above sea level, is perfect for enjoying cool weather.

The roads leading up are quite steep with hairpin turns, but normal cars can make it without much trouble. However, expect some muddy patches near the SAMA resort exit. Make sure to take the same resort exit to access this stunning viewpoint.

There’s also a small café at the viewpoint, which is a nice touch for a quick snack or warm drink while taking in the incredible scenery. Highly recommend it for nature lovers and...

An excellent camping experience awaits at this breathtaking destination, surrounded by serene mountains, picturesque roads, and lush trees. To ensure a safe and enjoyable trip, consider bringing the following essentials: 1. Tent and blankets: Temperatures can drop to as low as 12°C. 2. Firewood: Ideal for warmth and cooking. 3. Food supplies: Either pre-cooked meals or cooking equipment. 4. Hand wash: To maintain hygiene. 5. Warm clothing: Sweaters and gloves are a must. 6. Sunglasses: Protect your eyes from sun glare. 7. Emergency medicine: Be prepared for unforeseen situations. 8. Vehicle essentials: Ensure your car has extra fuel and a functional heater. Plan well and immerse yourself in nature's beauty!
