The archaeological city of Qalhat مدينة قلهات الأثرية — Attraction in Ash Sharqiyah South Governorate

🛑 Qalhat Ancient omani port city captured from persians by azd tribe from Yemen. Malik bin fahm of azd tribe migrated from Yemen after fall of the marib dam in kingdom of sheba of Yemen. Qalhat is Mentioned in scripture of 18th century called KASHF AL GUMMA ( the dispeller of harm) compiled by sirhan b said in nizwa in 1728 CE, its an omani national epic. In 1938 HEDWIG KLEIN a lady German researcher submitted dissertation on chapter 33 of KASHF dealing with early history of interior Oman to Hamburg university but unfortunately she was killed in concentration camp during the WW-II. 🛑Malik bin fahm and the AZD tribe shifted to interior Oman and sumail as the qalhat locals drove away the azds of yemen due to a trivial dispute of a dog being killed by Azds for barking at them followed by a quarrel with locals of Qalhat. 🛑 Fahm captured Oman from persians after battle 2nd century CE, but the AZD immigration to Oman continued from the Achaemenid Darius I the great to the sassanian bahrams period. Azd migration to Oman is attributed to beginning of SAMAD cultural period in Oman.

❤❤Ibn batuta came to visit sur and qalhat in 1331 ce just after death of bibi maryam at qalhat. Qalhat was khariji ibadi but under Sunnis sultan of hormuz QUTB UDDIN TAHAMTAN .

وتعتبر قلهات الساحلية –بتقدير علماء الآثار- أقدم مدينة عُمانية على الإطلاق، وهي أول عاصمة لعُمان قبل دخول الإسلام إلى هناك. وبسبب موقعها الاستراتيجي المطل على البحر كان ميناؤها يستقطب السفن القادمة من مختلف بقاع الأرض، فرست فيه سفن الهند واليمن، وكل من مرّت أساطيله من مضيق هرمز الحيوي.

وقد درس العلماء تاريخ قلهات الاقتصادي والثقافي والسياسي عن طريق التدوينات التي تركها الرحالة العرب والفرس الذين مروا من هناك، إلى جانب الشواهد التاريخية ودراسة النقوش والأحجار والمخلفات البشرية. فعلى سبيل المثال كتب الرحالة الأوروبي ماركو بولو، عام 1292م، عند مروره من قلهات ذاهباً إلى الصين، بأن لها موقعاً استثنائياً، وأن "ميناءها ضخم، وتقدم فيه خدمات بجودة عالية، وترسو فيه العديد من السفن المحملة بالبضائع، كما يستخدم لتصدير الخيول...
