Read moreMall of Muscat!! Its really a vast mall in Maabilah, Seeb. Just opposite to Nesto Mall. I visit this mall mostly for shopping or for kids gaming activities. It has various amenities like gaming, shopping, movies, coffeeshops, accessories, etc. It has almost all the brand shops. It has massive parking area both up and ground floor, its free of cost. Also, there's the first aquarium in Oman, where its the largest aquarium in the Middle East. It covers an area of more than 8000 square meters. With more than 3 million liters of water and 50 tons of acrylic for an ideal setting to showcase the voyages of the famous scientist and Arab-born explorer Ahmed bin Majid. There are more than 30,000 animals and marine creatures from the Omani seas. The aquirium is divided into three stories with stairs and lifts inside. Mostly it is fishes and a few varieties of snakes. There are penguins as well. The tickets are divided into two categories- silver and gold. The silver ticket is 8.5 R.O. for adults and 6.5 R.O. for kids which is on the higher side. There is family pack also for 24 R.O. which allows two adults and two kids. The gold category is slightly more as it comes with a guide. The good thing is that details regarding the fishes are provided infront of each panel. However dont go there with any preconcived notion if you have already seen the aquirium at Dubai Mall. The layout of this one is different. There are two tunnels also which adds to the experience. There are photographers at the entrance. If you get yourself photographed at the entrance you will have a chance to buy your framed photo with a background from the acquirium at the exit. Overall a good experience but a bit pricey. Highly recommend to visit the aquarium.
There is a snow world on the 2nd floor. i hope that is closed now! i will not recommend to go there. it is nothing if you guys see the snow park in dubai.
