Disappointing Experience
Our recent visit to the safari park near Lahore left much to be desired.
Location and Initial Impressions: The safari park, situated just outside Lahore, lacked basic amenities such as shelters for those waiting for cabs. We found ourselves standing in the scorching 48°C heat with no respite.
Entry Fees and Parking: Upon arrival, we were met with a series of charges: a parking fee of 50 PKR, an entry ticket of 100 PKR per person, and additional charges for the safari bus—200 PKR for adults and 100 PKR for children. It’s worth noting that purchasing a ticket was mandatory to access the animal enclosures.
Wasteful Ticketing Process: The ticketing process was not only cumbersome but also wasteful. Despite being a group of six, we were issued seven long receipts—six for tickets and one as a receipt. This excessive use of paper is unnecessary. The management could easily streamline the process by providing a single group ticket and a small receipt, or even eliminating the receipt altogether.
Safari Experience: The safari bus ride was underwhelming. The route mainly showcased different varieties of deer, without much else to see. The bus made only one round per enclosure, preventing us from fully appreciating the animals. The fish section was an additional cost of 500 PKR for two adults and two kids.
Canteen and Facilities: The canteen had reasonable prices, and we did not experience any overcharging there. However, the overall lack of shaded areas and proper seating was disappointing.
Lion Enclosure: Our excitement to see the lions was dampened by an additional charge of 1000 PKR for five people. We were uncomfortable due to the presence of five other male passengers, which made us uneasy, especially considering our cultural and religious sensibilities. The lions themselves appeared lethargic and neglected, with inadequate shelter and a small pond as their only source of water.
Birds Section: After the bus dropped us near the exit, we visited the bird cages. There were only a few common bird species, and despite there being no ticket required for this section, the attendant seemed keen on receiving a tip, which we declined given our dissatisfaction with the visit.
Conclusion: The entire trip felt like a waste of money. The safari park lacked variety and proper management, making it feel incomplete. While the lawns might be pleasant for a sit-down after paying the entry fees, the overall experience as a zoo was severely lacking.
Recommendation: The government should consider employing an international zoo management team to improve the conditions and operations of the park. The outdated management practices currently in place are no longer effective or attractive. Additionally, they need to address the wasteful ticketing process to conserve paper and simplify the...
Read moreAn Unforgettable Experience at Lahore Safari Zoo
During my recent trip from London, UK, I had the incredible pleasure of visiting the Lahore Safari Zoo, located near Lake City. As the owner of Crown Chauffeur Service, I’ve had the opportunity to explore many destinations, but this visit was truly one of the most memorable experiences of my life.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the lion safari. It was during this thrilling part of the journey that I had the pleasure of meeting Information Officer Mr. Bilal Shah—a remarkably professional and kind-hearted individual. His humble personality, impeccable manners, sharp appearance, and excellent communication skills immediately stood out.
Mr. Bilal made the experience all the more meaningful by personally guiding me and recommending the lion feeding activity. I’m so glad I took his advice. Feeding a lion—and even getting the rare chance to touch one—was both exhilarating and humbling. It’s an experience I will never forget.
I also met Asif, the dedicated lion keeper, whose calm nature and close bond with the lions were truly inspiring. Watching him interact so confidently and compassionately with these powerful animals was a privilege. His expertise and care clearly reflect years of dedication—he’s a true legend in his field. Beyond the lion safari, the entire zoo was equally impressive. From the serene jungle safari to the beautifully maintained aquarium, every corner of Lahore Safari Zoo reflects a deep commitment to wildlife care, education, and creating memorable experiences for visitors.
If you ever find yourself in Lahore, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting the Lahore Safari Zoo. And if you get the chance to meet Information Officer Mr. Bilal Shah, consider yourself lucky—his guidance and enthusiasm truly elevate the experience.
A sincere thank you to Mr. Bilal shah Asif, and the entire team at the zoo for making my visit so special. I will always cherish the memories.
Warm regards.

Read moreI have visited today and really disappointed. Its like they are just need a money from us and they tricked us just like govt does. Parking fee Rs.100 means something as it was built for safe parking. Then after entering there is 100Rs per person and literally thats just for entry and sitting on a green grass to feel the heat of sun. Then if we want to see range of animals (only deer family and few ostriches) were for Rs.300/person, only thing that was fascinated a little is aquarium where few different fishes to experience and a good time there and that was i think Rs.200/person. Then the last and pathetic phase was lion safari, they take people in a cage for 300/person with no space to stand and enjoy. They almost got into fight with me that we (family) has to enter in a car with another family or two as they can't afford to take single family in a car. Anyways they took us and we were thrilled to see lions/tigers then there was surprisingly a suprise that there was only single point where they had to take us and there was only 1-lion and 4-lioness. And for just 100-meter drive they were taking 300/person and asking for 4500 if to book for single family. Pathetic and above all these their greeting persons showed worst behaviour and when i made a call on complaint center there was also a person that responded just as an illiterate one. That looks like my last visit and will not recommend people if they want to see animals and lions as nothing there. Bad Customer Service/ Govt. Officer like attitude as if we argue they can shoot us without any hesitation/charging for just wishing to visit the wild life park that we visited few years back but now its like just DEER park. Posting just to show real picture of today's wild life park otherwise never interested in...
