Real jungle experience. Easy to follow out and back, moderate difficulty due to climb. You hear more animals than you see, but if you have good luck you will see monkeys, birds, coati. There is a parking lot if you have a car, but getting there by public transport is tricky. Take the C790 bus to Sendero del Charco. Yes, past the trailhead. You will have to walk back about 10 minutes on the highway to enter on your left. If you get off at Parque Summit, your walk is about twice as long. The C790 bus is also infrequent, so consider Uber if you don't want to wait. Be sure to pay the $5 if you are a tourist. Panama deserves this. Read moreA beautiful and easy hike through the jungle. The whole trail there and back is 12 km. Unfortunately we were on tight schedule and only could do 8 km. If you’re not in a rush definitely take time to stop and observe your surroundings quietly, you might be lucky and see some mammals as well as various species of birds and bugs. It is perfect also in hot and sunny days because the jungle provides shade and a bit colder temperatures. We encountered a lot of wildlife. Multiple troups of howler and capuchin monkeys, sloths (look carefully), frogs, tons of birds.
We were concerned about transit from here. It is right on the edge of Tigo service but it was functional. We were able to get an Uber within 3 minutes but usually expect to wait longer.
