We took an uber from the city to do a little hiking. It was tough to get info, since I think most users use tours. We hiked about 4 km out and back. It took about 3 hours since we kept stopping to look at things and take pictures.
What we found out when we go there: There is no cost. At about 8 km, the trail comes to a T. You need to have a guide to go past this. There is a tower to see the levels of the rainforest, but you need a reservation to access it. On the way back when we had about 0.5 km left, we got cell service back and we could contact uber again. In early April, there were no mosquitoes. The trail is mostly shaded.

Se encuentra a 25 kilómetros de la Ciudad de Panamá, el Parque Nacional Soberanía, ofrece tres senderos excepcionales: El Camino del Oleoducto, el Camino de la Plantación y el Sendero Interpretativo del Charco.
El Camino del Oleoducto, conocido por biólogos como Pipeline Road, es maravilloso para una caminata en cualquier época del año, ubicado al final del poblado de Gamboa. Los monos aulladores, trógones, tucanes, mariposas morpho son asiduos en este lugar. Los puentes sobre arroyos en el bosque son paradas maravillosas para un descanso y tomar un bocado en el sendero. Se puede hacer el recorrido en bicicleta de montaña.
El Camino de la Plantación, ofrece un sendero con algunas inclinaciones, pero de fácil caminata, tiene una longitud de 6.5 kms de extensión, el recorrido ida y vuelta es de 13 kms. A lo largo del sendero se pueden encontrar remanentes de árboles de cacao, caucho y plantas de café.
El Sendero el Charco por su lado, es apto para toda la familia, se encuentra a solo 1 km de distancia, después del Parque Municipal Summit. El sitio cuenta con estacionamientos, área de picnic y una piscina natural para refrescar el calor.
