Truth be told, US$45 is a bit expensive for what it is. We signed up at the Gamboa Rainforest Reserve, and they appeared a bit disorganized. The transportation provided did not have enough seats for the people who joined. Luckily a couple had their own car so they ended up driving to the Aerial Tram themselves. The ride itself was peaceful. We were grouped together with other people going up. We did see a monkey. If your goal is to see wildlife, this is probably not for you. Once we got up to the observation tower, the view is very nice. And it is interesting to have the audio tour (however the handset my husband had didn't work so we shared). You can still experience the rainforest even if you don’t want to ride the air lift tram or you can just ride the tram and not walk up the additional ramp to the top of the tower.
