Monkey Bar — Restaurant in Cristóbal

The chef here is either being severely stifled or has lost his passion. Menu is a composition of sad things someone thinks tourists may want to eat. We had a large group and unfortunately this was the worst food we've had in 2 weeks of traveling through Panama. Some of the orders were incorrect, and the iced tea was from powder. The hamburger was dry, flavorless and disappointing. The ceviche was fishy. The pizzas tasted as though they were from an American gas station. Nachos tasted like canned cheese and bagged guacamole. The chicken strips not only appeared to be a plate for children and each piece was blessed with a little tough gristle. The food was very slow and the waitress was nice but unimpressed. Unfortunately not even the spectacular view can make up for the slow miserable food. Perhaps coming here for a couple simple drinks would be okay. Honestly someone should call Gordon Ramsey and help them.

El chef aquí está muy asfixiado o ha perdido su pasión. El menú es una composición de cosas tristes que alguien cree que los turistas querrán comer. Éramos un grupo grande y desafortunadamente esta fue la peor comida que hemos tenido en 2 semanas de viaje por Panamá. Algunos de los pedidos eran incorrectos y el té helado era en polvo. La hamburguesa estaba seca, sin sabor y decepcionante. El ceviche tenía olor a pescado. Las pizzas sabían como si fueran de una gasolinera americana. Los nachos sabían a queso enlatado y guacamole en bolsas. Las tiras de pollo no sólo parecían un plato para niños y cada pieza estaba bendecida con un poco de cartílago duro. La comida era muy lenta y la camarera era agradable pero nada impresionada. Desafortunadamente, ni siquiera la vista espectacular puede compensar la comida lenta y miserable. Quizás venir aquí para tomar un par de tragos simples estaría bien. Honestamente, alguien debería llamar a Gordon Ramsey...

The service from most of the waiters leaves much to be desired… I've been there dozens of times because I like the location, and I've always thought that the waiters need better training. But last night, I had the most uncomfortable experience in our dinner: When I asked for the check, the waitress didn't bring a pre-printed check; she brought the electronic payment device and, in front of "my guest," loudly declared the amount of the order: 0.o.

I think that's a serious lack...

Food was average. Service S L O W. Had to ask for more water at bar, waitress never came back. Had to ask bartender for check. Then they cleaned tables before we got the check. Simple lunch took over an hour. We had a driver waiting on the clock outside so it was a little irritating.

I got a burger and it was overcooked and had canned nacho cheese for cheese. Fries have no salt and none on table. View is...
