Read moreCerro Azul , el antiguo Puerto de la Fortaleza, esta ubicado 135 km al sur de Lima, en la provincia de Cañete y se asienta sobre una antigua población prehispánica de la cultura Guarco, que fueron sometidos por los Incas en el Siglo XV . Aun podemos ver los restos de ese importante asentamiento en los cerros fraile y centinela que limitan el sector Sur de Cerro Azul con una playa abierta donde se ubica, colindante al sector Norte de estos contrafuertes que se internan en el mar, en el inicio de una extensa playa que se extiende por 50 km hasta Chincha, interrumpida en un tramo por la desembocadura del río Cañete. Un hito importante de la historia de Cerro Azul es la inmigración japonesa que arribó a este puerto. El 27 de febrero de 1899, partió desde Yokohama trayendo los 790 pioneros japoneses Arribaron al Callao y luego al puerto de Cerro Azul en la provincia de Cañete el 4 de abril de ese año, integrándose a la comunidad.
