Note: I bought my ticket from the Machu Picchu Center, not the government website. So, this review is for the correct place. I bought my tickets from Machu picchu.center. I give them 1 star because of my bad experience with them. I initially ordered 5 tickets for Circuit 2. Later that day, I ordered another 5 tickets for Circuit 1. I realized something was wrong when I received confirmation for Circuit 1 but not Circuit 2. I called them the next day. They told me they could not get Circuit 2 tickets. So they forced me to get Circuit 2 tickets for another day. When I asked to change my Circuit 1 tickets to match my Circuit 2 ticket date, they charged me for cancellation. It is not fair since they did not accommodate my order. However, after getting tickets, I realized they charge way more for each ticket. Even when I asked them whether I could buy tickets from the government website, they told me I could not (which is a lie, apparently). To sum up, they failed to secure my preferred ticket, compelled me to cancel my circuit 1 ticket and purchase another set for circuit 1 (for which they charged me, despite it being their responsibility), and overcharged for each ticket. My advice to you is to steer clear of this vendor and purchase your tickets from a more...

The guards act irresponsibly and put the guests' health at risk by taking away their water. Attached is a photo of the entrance where this happend.

We did Circuit 3 and got through the entrance of circuit 3/4 without any problems. When we entered again (through the entrance to the Mountain, which is also for Circuit 1+2) our backpack was suddenly too big. We had (for 2 people) 3l of water in a drinking system built into the backpack, 2 breads in a foldable can, sunscreen and 2 rain jackets. So nothing big, no plastic waste and our backpack fit in the small model box. We discussed in Spanish whether they really wanted to take away our water for the strenuous hike up the mountain in the midday heat, but they remained adamant.

This irresponsible behavior inevitably leads to dehydration, which is dangerous since there is no way to buy more water. Otherwise the purchased ticket will be useless. I am horrified by the conditions there and how carelessly they provoke medical...

I purchased a last minute tour package and it was perfectly organized, well run, and it made my experience of Machu picchu even that much better. Having each detail of the complex trip assisted by one of your agents made it very easy and worry free for us. I arrived in Cusco with no advance planning or knowledge. Regular tickets were long sold out. Machupicchu.center provided a complete package tour from my hotel, to machu picchu and back. I got a hotel there for one night. Everything went smoothly. They stayed in contact with me the entire way. All the details were handled. I would highly recommend machu picchu last minute package if you don't want to figure out all the details. And I calculated the separate cost for package contents, it was not that much more. I actually don't know how they provided that level of service for that price. Note: I chose morning, afternoon may be best...

This is the entrance to Machu Picchu. The bus will drop you off here. There are restrooms which cost 2 Sol ($0.50) to use as of March 2024, a restaurant, and the main entry gate. If you have circuit 3 or 4 tickets you need to enter through the exit area (to the right as you face the entry area from the bus). You can buy bus tickets at this location in cash or by card, but you'll need your passport. Expect to have many guides try to sell you their services like car salesman. The stray dogs are friendly.
