Horrible experience. If you already know how to ride and don’t mind a rude tour guide, then you should be fine. My advice, take your money elsewhere for a better experience. I was in a group with one experienced rider, we had specifically told the guides that the rest of the group, myself included, was not experienced with horses. He went at a very fast pace, I nearly fell off my horse a total of no less than 3 times, the trail is uneven, full of uphill and downhill slopes. I told him I needed help and he responded by telling me I was riding the horse wrong. Of course I was riding it wrong, it was my FIRST TIME, I don’t see how I could magically learn to ride it correctly on my first try. He gave very little instructions, was rude and short tempered with everyone and barely stopped to take pictures or answer questions. It’s a small business run by a husband and wife duo, the husband is the only guide so you can’t try your luck and hope for a nicer guide. Overall it was terrifying and horrible, I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. Please, please take my advice and...
Read moreAfter carefully reading reviews online for all Horseback Riding Tours in the Sacred Valley area, we noticed that Hacienda DeL Chalan was at the top of the list.
We (Wife & I) selected a full day riding experience, to Salinas and Moray.
It was a breathtaking sightseeing experience, In regards to the trail for all of you out there. One of a kind throughout mountains.!!!
Horses are well taken care of and the tour Guide was the owner himself MrYojan, he is well versed on the animals and has won tournaments.
Just read all the notes on the website, if you want a one of a kind experience, this is the place.
Ask all the questions you might have before the tour and it will go as smooth as possible.
PD.. be honest in regards your experience, if you have no horseback riding experience say so. You could get hurt or hurt the animals.
Have fun and be safe. Hacienda Del Chalan we will be back soon.
Thank you...
Read moreIf you're a horse rider I wholeheartedly recommend making the time to ride a trail with these guys. I did the 1 day Salt Pans and Moray complex trail and it was amazing to experience those sites via horseback rather than a coach tour or hike. (Tip from my mistake! If you've got a ticket that let's you see multiple sites in Cusco/Sacred Valley, take it with you so you can go into Moray and see the site in full.)
If you're not experienced, give it a try anyway! They have shorter rides you can do, and they make the difficulty clear on their website. The horses are wonderful and well trained, and the experience of the Sacred Valley from horseback is one I'll never forget.
Many thanks to Kate and Amelia for making the day great fun, and the welcoming hospitality of everyone at the ranch. Next time I'm in Peru I'll definitely be doing a multi...
