Went here for 2025 Good Friday. I was with my dog and it was a very good experience. Much better if you went with a private car because it's easier to find, but we did commute through public transportation which was also a good experience to familiarise the area. There are PUJ available from Pasig to Junction, then you have to transfer to another PUJ going to Binangonan. From town proper, you can just walk it up. The locals around Ang Kalbaryo were all helpful. I just asked around for directions and they were all so nice to give specific directions. It also saved me money from hailing a ride when I feel lost. Lots of food & drinks you can also buy on the trail. Since it is also Good Friday, there was a station where they offer free water which is very helpful. I was not able to count how many steps it was, but it took me around 10-15 mins to go up. Went to stop a few times to take photos too. The view was breathtaking! Also, there were people at the bottom of the last batch of stairs where I had to register my name, they were so kind to offer to look over my dog, because they were worried about her going up with me at that height and number of steps.

The place was serene when we got there, even if we consider that there were a lot of teenagers and kids that were present there as well at that time. It is a nice vantage point to get a 360 of the surrounding localities, even as far back as to Batangas, NCR, Bataan, etc. Personally, I love remembering the maps I'd look at when I'm bored by looking at what's around me when I get to go up higher places. And Ang Kalbaryo (Calvary Hill) is a good one to do that at. I'd wish it was more maintained, though. There were a lot of vandalisms even on the shrine, and I had to remind myself a number of times that it is a religious destination to people because it wouldn't look like one with all those. Some areas had trash as well, especially on the western face, the one that faces Laguna de Ba'i, where there was a heap of garbage to distract you from the great sunset views.

Still Closed as of January 2022 Caretaker was agitated when I went inside. Didn't know it was closed. Told him no sign was present or anyone had stopped me. Could have been an easy conversation had there been enough signages or locals warning visitors. Caretaker was too agitated to raise voice whenever he sees an outsider. Pls teach him how to provide a signage and guide locals from prohibiting visitors. Area could have been a good tourist spot but is not well maintained. So many people and residents living at the outskirts. Too crowded at the entrance area and the road leading to the site is very NARROW only motorcycles can enter. NO PARKING.
