Biri Rock Formation — Attraction in Biri

The scenic beauty of Biri Island captured my heart. I'm overwhelmed with the environment and community. The pictures were taken yesterday. (December 2, 2023)

How to get there from Manila:

Option 1: Join a tour event Option 2: Do it yourself (commute) Option 3: Rent a car/van or drive your own car if you want to experience the long drive.

Notes: *Travelled from Manila at 9:00pm. *Arrived at Albay around 8:58am. *By van, it takes 1 hr to 1 1/2 hour drive to Sorsogon city proper. It took 15 to 30 minutes to go to Matnog Port. *Arrived at Dapdap Ferry Terminal via Fast Craft around 3:45 pm. *Paid 70 pesos (fare per person) from Dapdap Port going to Lavezares Market (30 to 40 minutes travel time). Then, ride a boat going to Biri Island. *It took 1 hour to reach the Brgy. Sto. Niño. *Habal-habal is the only service going to the homestay or transient house (depends on your choice of accommodation).

Biri Island may not be for all. But it certainly is for me. It took quite a number of transfers to get to the island - from Manila to Tacloban by air, land trip to Allen (Lavezares Port) then a small banca to Biri - which took us an hour in choppy waters at that time. I read that there are 6 rock formations on the island. We were able to visit 3 as we only stayed for one night. I intend to go back to visit the other 3. Don’t expect any high end accommodations on this island. Most are Homestay Inns. Mode of transportation is habal habal! EXPECT ADVENTURE! A hidden gem in Northern Samar! The boat ride going here was very long and boring but it was all worth it! There were so many beautiful rock formations! It was amazing!
