Rio Playa Beach — Attraction in Busuanga

It’s easy to get to by scooter, no dirt bike needed, apart from initial turn off from the main road which is off road, it’s paved after a few meters. Entry fee 50. Long beautiful beach but no facilities although there are picnic tables (both concrete and bamboo). There are some huts dotted around but I am not sure if these are functional. Beautiful Beach. BE WARNED! Absolutely infested with Sand flies. We were engulfed by a swarm which go for your legs arms and neck. (They are 2mm big approx) There is a 50 peso charge per person to enter. Wish we read the reviews before coming here. Saw another person who experienced the exact same after we read them. We paid and then walked onto the beach and then the swarm came. We had to leave after many bites. Minutes later.

Only go if you have a heavy DEET bug repellent. Otherwise...

If you are spending your vacation on Busuanga Island, don't even plan going to this beach, or any other beach on island. It is not the one you expect to see on Philippines from brochures, really mediocre places with not clear water and not white beaches. You should understand that Coron is more about underwater treasures, so definitely do snorkeling tour or diving. If you are looking for nice beaches, hire a boat / take a tour and go to nearest islands with really fascinating...
