As someone who has visited Davao Crocodile Park and Zoo multiple times, I can truly say it’s more than just a tourist destination – it’s a place for learning, fun, and appreciation of wildlife. Each visit offers something new: from watching the thrilling crocodile feeding sessions to seeing exotic animals like tigers, snakes, and rare birds up close. The zoo is clean and well-maintained, and the staff are approachable and knowledgeable. Kids and adults alike enjoy the interactive shows and educational talks, especially the weekend animal encounters. It’s a great place to bond with family, take photos, and even learn about conservation. There’s also a souvenir shop and snack bar to complete the experience. Definitely a must-visit in Davao – and worth coming back to!

We visited the park midday on a weekday as part of a city tour. There weren't many people, which made for a very easy and relaxed look around. The park offers a respectable assortment of animals, including crocodiles (of course), tigers, zebras, and various birds/raptors and other reptiles. Since I'd never seen a crocodile before, that's where I spent most of my time—it was genuinely intriguing. My key takeaway: If you are in the area and contemplating a visit, I advise checking recent reviews from others first. The current standard adult rate of ₱450 (Philippine Pesos) is something you should consider against the scope of the zoo before making your decision. Note: the entry stamp they use took several days to completely wash off!

Clean zoo so your nostrils will not be assaulted when admiring the fauna. I just wish they would deploy more roving caretakers because the kid in front of me pushed the box turtle. Good thing it was not hurt badly. Tour guide Soi was very friendly and informative. Do not be alarmed when crocodiles fight and maul each other since it is normal for them when it is breeding season. I just can't give this a perfect score because I wish there's transportation which won't cost you too much and the directions are clear where to exit because it is easy to also get lost once you went to the inner parts like the koi feeding or ostrich feeding areas.

The first thing we see upon entering the park are cages upon cages upon cages of crocodiles. Turns out, the crocodiles are caged according to age. The biggest crocodile in the park, with a cage all his own, is "Pangil". I couldn't find any data on him but I estimated that he is at least 25 feet in length. His head alone is about about the size of my torso. He's big and very intimidating. As we continue looking at the various cages of crocodiles, we realized there were other kinds of animals in cages as well. Reptiles, birds, monkeys, bats, other land based animals including the Philippine Brown Deer, Cassowary and the Wallaby which looks like an overgrown rat. We also got to see a good sized fruit bat moving about. It looked like an overgrown rat as well except with wings. We concluded our Crocodile Park tour by watching a very entertaining show involving the park's residents. For me, the most entertaining portion was watching this poor "volunteer" lady try her best to overcome her fear of snakes as the handler placed a grown python on her shoulder. Both she and the handler tried several times but she just couldn't do it. Finally, as a compromise, they agreed to hold the python together. She placed one hand on the python while the handler was still holding the python as well. Feeling a little more confident, she complied when asked to hold the snake with her other hand. As soon as both of her hands were firmly holding the snake, the handler let go. Not even 10 seconds later, she was done with the snake and tried to give it back to the handler. Except that the handler backed away. Chaos on stage ensued while the audience...

I visited the crocodile zoo in Davao and was heartbroken by the state of the facility and the treatment of the animals.

The cages were dirty and rusty, with trash scattered around. The small glass-enclosed cage of a monkey was so filthy that it was nearly impossible to see the animal inside. The animals themselves looked unkempt and deeply distressed. A goat, in particular, appeared to have an expression of despair, and the soaring temperatures only added to their suffering as they were confined to tiny, inadequate cages.

The most shocking sight was a lion, confined to a cage barely 2 square meters in size—unthinkable and utterly inhumane.

The infrastructure of the zoo was equally appalling, with buildings in disrepair, broken windows, and a general sense of neglect. The only area that was tidy and clean was the entrance, creating a stark contrast with the rest of the facility.

This place is far from a sanctuary for animals; it feels more like a prison. Immediate action is needed to improve living conditions for the animals, ensure proper maintenance of the facility, and, most importantly, treat these creatures with the care and dignity they deserve. I strongly urge authorities to step in and address these...
