100% would recommend Miniloc Resort!
Food: 8/10 The savory dishes were good – solid 9/10! I think their specialty are grilled fish and other seafood. My other favorites were crispy pata, grilled beef, sisig, and salpicao. On the flip side, their chicken not so good, usually it tasted too dry. Baked desserts and bread (7/10) weren't quite on the same level as the main courses. Same goes for the cocktails (6/10); they just weren't that great. I've had better. But fresh juice and shakes were great but that should be hard to spoil.
Staff: 10/10 The staff is super great! Every single person we met was genuinely nice, and that really made our trip.
Boatmen (Mors, Gie, Mario, and Jonathan): These guys were the best! So friendly, super helpful, and always looking out for us during our activities. We felt totally safe with them. Plus, they knew so much about the other islands and the underwater sea creatures. Wilson (Scuba Instructor): Wilson is a super nice guy, not at all condescending. We had a lot of questions and worries, and he never made us feel dumb for asking! Waiting Staff (especially Kuya Bern): The guys waiting tables were always topping up our water and coffee and switching out plates without us even asking. Just Great People: Everyone was just so welcoming and polite. We even gave them tips, and they always looked surprised. You could tell they weren't expecting anything, and all their kindness felt genuine. No awkward "waiting around" for money.
Room: 8/10 (water cottage) Layout: It had this huge veranda which was really nice for hanging out. But, because of that, the bed area and bathroom felt a bit small. Honestly, I'd want more space for the bed and bathroom than such a big veranda. Cleanliness & other stuff: Despite the size preference, the room was super clean. They had all the toiletries and towels you'd need, though I do wish they had a separate hair conditioner. Also, two of the small lights were out, but it wasn't a big deal so we didn't bother mentioning it. I really liked their unique woven...
Read moreEverything is okay, but not worth the price tag of $1000. If you expect 5 star experience from here, I recommend you to choose different resorts.
Food: 3 out 5. taste is okay quality and the presentation is a mid level business hotel buffet. You should go to El nido city to have a decent dinner experience.
Drink: 2 out of 5. taste okay and the presentation is a cheap bar but the price is more expensive than a 5 star hotel bar like $15 for a Gin Tonic. Again, you definitely should go to El nido main city for good drinks.
Facilities: 4 out of 5 overall clean and satisfying but nothing special
Tours: 3 out of 5 They use a speed boat so thats a good part because you can visit as many islands as possible but the selection of those and the order of events were off. We were made waited 30mins among other tourists just to go into secret lagoon for 2mins for nothing much.
Spa: 2 out of 5 not professional at all. it doesn’t justify the price. I cannot explain but it wasn’t skilled massager.
Overall it is overpriced. Definitely not worth $1000 a night. Everything is off a little bit because of the lack of skills. There is no specialised staff for a thing. It’s like everyone got the same general lessons for hospitality including serving and making drinks and no one really knows what’s going on each fields. Which makes it worse because superficially they are “nice” and you can easily think that you are the one who are wrong having this kind of feelings.
But, I can assure that you are right and okay to feel this is...
