Seven Commandos Beach, tucked between limestone cliffs just a short boat ride from El Nido town, is a stunning stretch of sand that feels like the perfect way to end an island-hopping day. It’s usually one of the last stops on Tour A, often after Big Lagoon, and for good reason—it’s calm, beautiful, and a great spot to unwind.

The beach gets its curious name from a bit of local lore: it’s said that seven Japanese commandos were stranded here after World War II and lived on the island for some time. Whether the story is fact or just island legend, the name stuck—and now it gives this slice of paradise a bit of mystery and charm.

The beach itself is framed by palm trees and soft golden-white sand, with the usual dramatic El Nido limestone cliffs standing guard on either side. The waters are crystal-clear and shallow near the shore, making it great for swimming, especially after a day in deeper lagoons. It’s not just for relaxing either—there’s usually a lively volleyball game happening, with both locals and travelers jumping in.

There’s a small local shop where you can grab drinks, coconuts, or simple snacks—nothing fancy, just exactly what you want after a long day in the sun. It’s also one of the best spots in the area to catch the sunset. When the light hits the cliffs and the water turns gold, the whole beach quiets down a little—it’s a peaceful, memorable moment.

As for access: despite being so close to town, Seven Commandos isn’t reachable by foot. It’s only accessible by boat because of the cliffs and dense jungle behind it, which makes it feel even more like a hidden getaway—even if it’s popular.

If you’re heading out on an island tour and see this beach on the list, don’t skip it. It’s more than just a pretty stop—it’s a place to pause, reflect, and take in the beauty of El Nido one last time before heading...

So, here's the lowdown on this unique little gem – it's got its own brand of charm that's just waiting for you to discover. It might not scream "untouched paradise," but the fact that both local folks and globe-trotters alike can't resist its magnetic pull says something, right?

Now, picture this – there's this quaint little joint that's got drinks and snacks to satisfy your cravings. Yeah, it's a tad pricier than your average snack stop, but hey, you're paying for the experience.

And speaking of experiences, if you're thinking of bunking down for the night, plan that puppy ahead with your trusty tour provider.

Now, quick tip – this might not be the go-to place for those "snap-and-go" snapshots. Unless you're a pro at capturing those magical moments in the midst of the hustle and bustle. Alternatively, if your smartphone's got some ninja-level editing skills, you can turn those pics into priceless souvenirs.

But here's the thing – this place is definitely worth a visit. It's got a charm all its own that'll leave you smitten. Oh, and if you're a volleyball ace, don't be shy – challenge some fellow tourists to a friendly game. After all, it's all part of the...

Seven Commandos Beach is undeniably beautiful, with its stunning scenery and crystal-clear waters. The beach offers a variety of activities such as beach volleyball, swimming, and grabbing a drink.

Positive Aspects: a) The beach boasts breathtaking scenery and pristine waters. b) Various activities available including beach volleyball, swimming, and enjoying a drink by the beach.

Areas for Improvement: a) The major drawback is the overwhelming number of tourists; the beach is often overcrowded as it's a common stop for many tours. b) The excessive tourism has somewhat diminished the natural charm of the place.

If you prefer quieter and more serene beaches, you might want to explore lesser-known options...

Island Hopping in El Nido 🏝️ Island hopping is a core travel experience when it comes to visiting El Nido in the Philippines. The decision to island hop is simple, but deciding which islands to visit can be difficult. In El Nido you’ll find the following tour options: ⭐️ Tour A Big Lagoon, Secret Lagoon, Shimizu Island, 7 Cammandos & Payong Beach. ⭐️ Tour B Entatula Island, Snake Island, Cudognun Cave, Cathedral Cave & Pinagbuyutan Island. ⭐️ Tour C Helicopter Island, Hidden Beach, Secret Beach, Talisay Beach & Matinloc Island. ⭐️ Tour D Cadlao Lagoon, Small Lagoon, Bukal Beach, Nat-Nat Beach & Paradise Beach. Tour A and Tour C are the most popular options. We were advised that the lagoons in Coron (where we had already visited) were more beautiful than those in El Nido included in Tour A, so we decided to go on Tour C which arguably has the more beautiful beaches! We weren’t disappointed as you can see from the drone footage of (not so) “Secret” Beach. As we were limited for time while in El Nido, we arranged our tour in advance booking through @getyourguide thanks to the @getyourguidecommunity. They really made the process simple! 📍Secret Beach, El Nido . . . . #getyourguidecommunity #elnido #philippinestravel #wowphilippines #bluewaters #islandhopping #tropicalbeach
