Iligan City Wet Park — Attraction in Iligan

A park is an area of land or water that is protected for the use of the public and/or the conservation of the environment and wildlife. It should be managed in an organized way and this management should contribute to conservation or retaining the ecological balance in the area. It should be used to inspire and educate the public about our environment and resources, not just for the sake of government projects.

Iligan City Wet park serve as an income generation as it will attracts people to visit the place often. There should be a more enrich discussions about the project before this is implemented.

The park was built in an elevated area, a man made landscape and ponds to contain water. Every time it rains all the surrounding areas gets flooded with water. The canal was widen, maybe to contained that water only to make it worst. Sadly people who live around this area has to bear the burden of constant water interruptions.

One of Iligan's substandard flood control projects. Originally proposed as a "catch-basin" for excess flood water, the wet park was build atop an existing wetland area. This ended up replacing absorptive, damp, swampy land with concrete and grass lawns. As a result, the surrounding areas only became even more flood prone.
