Our first choice was at Villa Alta but the local trike driver encouraged us to see Islander's Paradise Resort too. I was glad we took his advice because we instantly fell inlove with the place. Our cottage was right in front of the beach. For 950 pesos we totally enjoyed the serenity of the sea, the vastness of the sky and we got to bathe and soak in the waters as long as we liked, posed for outlandish photos, marveled at the sun setting below the horizon, wore my two-piece bikini without getting conscious because there were only 2 or 4 people in the resort (Foreign men with their Filipina partners). We were just lucky because September is not their peak season. I'm just glad we did not listen to the trike drivers in Siquijor port who tried to persuade us to book somewhere near like San Juan because Sandugan beach in Larena is quite far.
