What a gem! Simply loved it here!
I came here on my first evening in Sandugan and was so impressed with Ayan and her cooking that I decided to try my way through her menu. I couldn’t find a single dish I didn’t enjoy and savour until the last bite. I especially liked the banana blossom balls and one of her signature dishes the Chicken Sangkutsa. Oh, and not to forget the famous mango float!
Ayan’s husband is a very talented fisherman, so you’ll find the freshest fish & seafood on your plate. Ayan is growing her vegetables and herbs in her garden next to the restaurant and you can see her collecting them as she’s cooking your dish, which makes the food taste twice as good knowing that all ingredients are home grown.
Ayan’s restaurant is a beautifully decorated place (her husband built it and every piece of furniture in it!), which makes you feel home right away. Her smiley & talented team will help you feel welcome and help with the tough choice of picking one of the many amazing dishes :)
I’ll definitely be back at Ayan’s for the great people and food when I’m back in the Philippines!
P.s. she also gives a...
Read moreWe got there at around 6:30 PM. The service was good, but the food was so-so—definitely not worth going there for. It’s pretty far from all the other places in Siquijor, so you really have to be intentional about going.
They gave us service water, but the glasses smelled old, which made the water taste old as well. There were cockroaches and grasshoppers on our table. While it’s understandable since it’s outdoor dining and surrounded by trees, maybe they could do something about it…
We ordered the following:
Iced coffee – Not worth it for the price. It was 90 pesos and tasted like watered-down 3-in-1.
Mango shake – A little bland and disappointing. How can you mess up a mango shake?
Sweet and sour chicken – Not the usual taste of sweet and sour chicken. It was just okay.
Complete omelette meal – By far the best out of everything we ordered. This was 200 pesos.
TLDR: The food was just okay—not worth going for. There are better places with redeeming qualities. Nothing remarkable. The service was good, which was the best thing about the place,...

Unfortunately, we ended up here because there was nothing else open nearby. The place is besutiful and the girls are very nice, but the food is very bland and tasteless. Even the mango shake was not good, as it had large ice chunks and all the chopped (not blended) mango pulp at the bottom. It was like unfinished mango puree with lots of frost on top. I ordered the chicken afritada and the vegetables tasted like nothing apart from being super raw. It seemed like they cooked all the ingredients separately and then put them together at the end. The rice was also some of the worst I've ever eaten in the Philippines (and I eat rice...
