Kembali Samal Island by Filinvest — Attraction in Samal

Worst experience in Samal ever. See points below: -rented House #17 for 9k (gave 4,500 dp) which was advertised to be good for 15 pax...there's only 1 room with aircon, the bed can maybe accommodate 2-3 pax, the mattresses provided for extra pax looked dirty. So say you are a group of 15 pax...others would have to sleep outside where it's open space -the house itself should not be rented anymore...it is not well-maintained AT ALL. Bathrooms were dirty, flushes don't work. The kitchen is just eeew, the utensils, plates - not presentable at all. The style of the house is open so when it rains, the water comes in (that's what happened to us). Even the small electric fan upstairs is broken (you can't push the buttons anymore and you can only use it/turn it off/on by plugging/unplugging the cord). TO THE OWNER OF HOUSE #17, PLS PLS DO NOT RENT OUT YOUR HOUSE ANYMORE AND PLS RENOVATE IT ASAP BEFORE YOU DO. -no generator which I think should alr have been provided as Samal always experiences brown-out...imagine, we can't even use the refrigerator bec there's no electricity, and we brought frozen goods to cook for breakfast the next day...no lights also...how to move in the dark -the beach may be clean, but lotsa big rocks...you can't even enjoy swimming bec you have to be careful when the waves knock you back

The only saving grace was the caretaker who helped us get our deposit back. It was supposed to be a fun overnight with my family and foreign partner to show him the beauty of Samal...did not happen.

Save yourselves the headache and just book elsewhere. Maybe more expensive but surely it's worth it. Not like our experience here at Kembali - affordable, yes but not worth the...

The place may look as good as some pictures would show BUT the services was just awful. NO resto, water resources was just scarce, and as how accommodating the agent was the opposite was the caretaker of the property. The caretaker was just rude, scolding guest as they arrive and as we were about to leave she instigated a scene asking for additional fee. All that for just a simple misunderstanding. For the caretaker who stays the same house as the guest should have been more understanding and patient. If what the guest would have done wrong as simple as using a room that was not included in the agreement she should have given instruction first thing as guests arrived.
