We rented e-bikes to ride out from Kraków to Tyniec, along the Vistula river, which was a terrific thing to do! The abbey sits on a hill, so there are excellent views out the river side, and the church is simply amazing. We wanted to go in to the museum, but the attendants there did not speak English, and unfortunately, our Polish is non existent. So we were told it wasn't possible to enter the museum without joining a tour group, which would have been a 2.5 hour wait for us. Individual entry was definitely available according to the signs, but with the language barrier, it wasn't possible for us to get in, so that was disappointing. So I recommend you book a tour to be sure...

Nice view from the bank of Vistula River :) the abbey itself is very very old, the museum makes sure you are aware of that ancientness. Recommend, the entry to 3 exhibitions (small catacombs, several old abbey chambers on ground floor and a small recent art gallery) was just 8 PLN...

Skłania do refleksji. Wraz z kościołem i kawiarnią wycieczka do Tyńca zajmuje ok 90 min.
