179 Zloty for being able to go up the top twice with a DAY SKI PASS is utterly stupid and only has access to TWO slopes? Who thought this was a good idea? When taking the cable car, you can access slope 1 and 2. When you go down the 2nd slope, you can only use a lift that take you to the beginning of the 2nd slope. It is not possible to reach the 1st slope unless you walk up the mountain (good luck). At the top you have some kiosk, souvenir shop and a restaurant with limited food choices. Should you ski down to the base station, in order to eat something else, you might not be able to go back up because of this moron system.

When I wanted to go up for the third time (I wanted to ride the 1st slope instead of the 2nd slope), my card didn’t work. I asked one of the guards (or whatever his profession is), what was the issue with my card. He started speaking Polish, which I don’t speak. “Sorry, I don’t speak Polish”, I replied.

He started to get irritated as he couldn’t get his message across. He continued to get more agitated as I didn’t understand him after some seconds I just left because it was a waste of time asking for his help.

I cannot understand why you as a ski-pass DAY holder, cannot use the cable car as you like. I’m there to ski and I wanted to alternate between the 1st and 2nd slope. I asked the customer service team in front of the cable car and he confirmed that you cannot go up as many times as you want, even with a ski pass. It is not priceworthy. The simplest solution would be to connect slope 1 and 2 with a lift.

S T U P I D.

How are the “black” slopes? The 1st slope has a somewhat “steep” beginning and then it’s literally a red slope. The 2nd slope is a red slope all the way. I don’t understand why anyone could define these slopes as black. But it has some really wide areas and the snow was well packed. Both of the slopes had good snow conditions.

Last point: All in all, it is badly signed where to go, lack of overview maps of the trails. Confusing and not very “user” friendly.

The only reason for two stars: The...

Definitely the easiest way to get a great mountaintop shot in the Zakopane area. We bought tickets ahead online and it was super easy, just walked on. There was evidence of some pretty long lines for walk-up customers though so definitely buy ahead if you can.

Passenger cars can't get up the last leg of the road to where the Gondolas board, so you'll have to walk or take a taxi. There are shuttle busses that run from the lift to Zakopane for between 2-15 zloty depending on how far you're going.

At the top there's a little gift shop, concession stand and a buffet-style restaurant with Polish classics like Hunter's Stew and Kielbasa (and fries for the kids). There are nice bathrooms that cost 2,50 zloty to use. There is WiFi too but I got all kinds of security warnings so exercise reasonable caution.

When you exit the building where the gondola let's off at the top there are a ton of great vantage points within about a 10-15 minute walk, as well as trails that presumably lead much further into both Slovakia and Poland.

We got some fog and wind while we were at the top which caused them to suspend gondola service for about an hour. Wasn't really a big deal for us as we just got another beer but I felt bad for the parents around us as the children ran out of patience.

All in all a great experience. Not the cheapest around but definitely the most "modernized" (from my Ameri-centric perspective) attraction in the area. Walk on, get a great photo and drink a beer, walk...

Guess the members of Kasprowy Wierch Cable Car operations are snoozing in winter!

From the website to parking staff, nobody cares to share accurate details with the tourists. When we were in Zakopane 2 weeks ago, I was supposed to visit the Kasprowy Wierch by taking a cable car ride. (17th Jan, 2024)

Unfortunately, because of the avalanche, the operations were suspended. Fair enough. But we were trying to book tickets online, where they shared the info that you'll have to walk the last couple of kilometres to reach the ticket point.

How can these people working for the cable car facility not inform the tourists that it's closed, which would have saved us precious 1.5 hours lost in the unnecessary hassle?

We found out only at the ticket counter, where everything was of course closed because of bad weather. The website has the possibility of buying online tickets, but it wouldn't let us for some reason, maybe because it wasn't operational. BUT, WHY NOT SHARE ACCURATE INFO with the tourists??

You get to know it right when you're standing 10 meters away from the cable car, and the display board yells at you - SORRY, strong wind and avalanche forced us to close. PATHETIC!!

It wasn't expected! I did the ride in the summer when it was super pleasant. But can you guys wake up and consider that people might lose precious time and money because of your carelessness? Hope this review...
