Aljustrel Castle — Attraction in Aljustrel

Indeed the castle is ruins burried in the soil. The view from the top is absolutely stunning and definitely worth the climb. The steps are not too steep, so it’s quite manageable. When we visited, it was 37°C, which made the walk a bit too exhausting.

Unfortunately, the chapel itself was locked, and the public toilets were also closed. That was a bit disappointing, as we would have liked to go inside and take a break. There are no refreshments or facilities nearby either.
