Quinta dos Frades — Attraction in Armamar

What a fantastic wine tour! We emailed the day before and were grateful they could accommodate us (a group of 4) for a tour. They only do private tours and it made for a great experience.

Helena was very helpful from start (booking the tour) to finish. She was very knowledgeable in wines and the winery, and generous with her time. She was very friendly and easy to chat with. She did a great job explaining the winery and the wines we were tasting.

We started the tour getting to see the winery and cellar. Then she drove us around the vineyard and showed us the beautiful property of old and new wines, and the teahouse where the tasting took place had a stunning view.

Wines were also available for purchase at the end at such reasonable prices! Highly recommend.

We had a great experience at this Quinta! We arrived unexpected and could still get a tour. The tour is I think the best of the area! You are only with your own group, the guide is very sweet, passionated, and full of knowledge which she gladly shares about the history of the estate till today. After visiting the wine process you have the chance to drive around the wine-yards in their cute little van, where you can enjoy an amazing view of the river and fields! The tour ends with the wine tasting in very cute terrasse somewhere on the estate. We tasted their different wines (not Port wine). We definitely recommend this Quinta to anyone wanting to have a wine tour...

Exceptional wine tour and tasting with Helena! Enthusiastic, friendly, highly personal, unique, informative - we were absolutely delighted with our first experience of a Duoro Valley wine farm. The tour includes a cellar tour and drive through the beautiful farm to see the vines and manor house with gardens. The tasting room is beautiful and the wines superb. We bought several cases to take home. Can't recommend this wine estate enough! Probably our best wine tour ever and we've been to many, having grown up in a wine region....
