Absolutely beautiful ruins of a very large Roman Villa. The municipality has maintained and built a wonderful interpretative board walk with signage in Portuguese and English. It’s free to walk the boardwalk and takes about 45 mins. It’s a 10 mins (5euro) Uber from Oeiras and well worth it. Great history and the ruins are exceptionally preserved. In addition to the Roman ruins there is ruins of pre Roman inhabitants as well. Very interesting would recommend to everyone

An amazing experience, not just for the remains but the location and natural features. So much history. So much to learn. Something for anyone who has an interest in these things, as an introduction or as a veteran. The overlap of inhabitants over more than 10000 years in such a small area is something to deeply contemplate. An incredibly physical and spiritually active space. Thank the gods and goddesses that the Portuguese people have such respect to keep these places so well. A total must...

Very quiet and secluded. Usual experience. Trying to image how the Romans lived here. Although there are cctv' s installed here. I don't think I'd venture here alone. A bit too secluded for my liking! Still a nice place to if you're looking for tranquillity,...
