A Celestial Symphony by the Sea. In the realm of earthly paradises, Praia da Marinha in the Algarve stands as a testament to nature's boundless beauty. As the poet's quill dances upon parchment, so too does the heart flutter upon beholding this resplendent shore.
The golden sands, kissed by the sun's tender embrace, weave a tapestry of dreams beneath one's feet. The azure waters, clear as the poet’s purest intentions, invite the soul to surrender to their gentle caress. Towering cliffs, carved by the hands of time, stand as silent sentinels, whispering tales of ancient lore.
Every element of Praia da Marinha is a verse in a divine poem. The natural arches and grottoes, sculpted with the precision of a master artisan, beckon the wanderer to explore their secret realms. Here, where the sea meets the land, one finds a harmony that transcends the mundane, a celestial symphony that sings to the spirit.
To walk upon this beach is to step into a painting of unparalleled beauty, where every wave that kisses the shore is a line of poetry, every breeze a whispered sonnet. Praia da Marinha is not merely a destination; it is an ode to the sublime, a place where the soul finds solace and inspiration.
In the embrace of Praia da Marinha, one discovers the true essence of nature’s grandeur, and the heart is filled with a profound reverence. This is a place where the poet's soul is eternally nourished, where beauty and tranquility...

This beach is only accessible by a long walk down stairs.
Praia da Marinha is one of the most famous beaches of the Algarve, famed for its spectacular setting and turquoise sea waters. During the summer months is super crowded. I’d suggest planning to visit during off season. We were here during March and it was absolutely perfect!
The beach nestles at the base of towering limestone cliffs, which have been eroded into unique formations by rainwater and winter storms.
These formations include a double sea arch, the Arcos Naturais, which lies to the western side of the beach and is one of the most photographed natural features of the Algarve.
We were lucky enough to view the arc also from the water on our boat tour for Benagil Cave.
The sea water is incredibly clear, ideal for snorkelling and swimming. The beach is supervised by lifeguards during the summer, and the calm waters make the beach ideal for families.
There are several smaller beaches located on the left and right side of the main beach you...
Read moreVery beautiful picturesque beach. Long stretch of beautiful sand, rock formations, the arches, all in all very recommended. There is a parking space for quite a lot of cars and you can walk to the left and hike down (not far) to the beach. You could also walk right from the parking space to the trail connecting more places, towards Praia de Benagil, and further. Right after the walk down to this beach, you will have a small bar. In front of the bar you have already a beach, but this is not the full Praia da Marinha. If you walk to the right, slightly around the cliff, then you will have the full long stretch of Praia da Marinha. It is a wonderful place to just relax and enjoy the view or take a nap, or you could also walk further to the far right of the beach to see the Arches of Marinha and see the waves hitting the rocks. Near the beach bar you have a small cave, get in there and walk through this narrow cave to find another beach! Praia do Buraco. It is an experience on its own, finding a "secret" beach. PS. The bar was close the 2 days we went...
