The hike is interesting because of the tunnels (I was disappointed to see there are only 4), bridges and aqueducts, but more than half of the path goes on the streets of the village and on wide gravel paths between meadows, the part in the forest, the interesting part is very short. If you are not used to long hikes, just want to walk in the forest, this is a great opportunity for you to see an interesting waterfall, but if you have the necessary physical condition for longer and more difficult hikes, and have limited time on the island, I would say there are plenty of hikes that are more worthy of your time. Note: the hike is easy (but can be slippery) in good weather, I can imagine that in rainy weather it gets muddy and much more...
Read moreDid the hike with 2 kids, 6 yo as nd 10 yo. From the parking spot, walk down and around to find the start of the trail. The beginning is not marked and its confusing where to go/start. Once you get on that road, it is well marked and easy to follow. First 1/3 is walk through dirt road, smelly, nothing much to see. Second section starts with the tunnel and you enter a different world, fantastic, surreal, breathtaking. At one point you have to cross a stone bridge that is muddy, narrow and rail (flimsy) only on 1 side. I was terrified, took a lot of guts, although my kids did it easily. Last 1/3 also through country dirt roads, not much too see. Wear hiking shoes and have a flashlight as the 2...
Read morePlenty of parking, toilets at the parking lot. We went on the trail in really bad weather, fog and rain and still it was a fun, diverse, mistycal trail, starting with an uphill walk between cow pastures, entering a wet, extremely muddy forest (wear good shoes as it can be slippery!), going through a couple of tunnels (recommend a good torch, doable with the one on the phone, but better with sth stronger as both the ceiling and the floor of the tunnels can be tricky), passing a couple of waterfalls, crossing some bridges... Well marked, but pay attention to the marking poles, especially in fog. Had fun, but...
