Many winery visits are quite similar, but not so at Manzwine.
Raul gave us a wonderful tour, including the fascinating story of how the winery came to be, the discovery of the thought-to-be-extinct Jampal grape, and how the winery has renovated some of the older buildings in the picturesque town of Cheleiros (outside Lisbon), and incorporated them in the winery complex.
The newly rejuvenated Jampal is now rated as one of Portugal's best wines!
In addition to the Jampal, of which there is also a sparkling version, Manzwine also has quite a wide range of white, red, and rosé wines, made using locally grown grapes as well as grapes from other wine regions in Portugal. The varied styles of the wines gives Manzwine a portfolio with something for nearly every taste.

We didnt have enough time for a tasting so we decided to buy 6 bottles. We wanted to consume 2 bottles in Portugal and bring the 4 back home. When checking out, we asked for 6 bubble bags in case we decide to bring the 2 back home as well. When we said this, we noticed the senior staff had a sour expression and spoke to the junior in portuguese. But she was clearly unhappy that we asked for 6 bubble bags.
